Born in 1962 in Novara, Italy, Paolo Rollino displays his interest in photography and photographic equipment at an early age. -I took my first real picture when I was only six years old with my father's mythical Voigtlaender Bessamatic and from then on I was the family's official photographer!-
While growing up he develops his passion for aviation and aeronautic photography and begins his collaboration with the most prestigious magazines in the field with his contributions of reportages, photographs, stories and news items
After attending the prestigious 'ex-Umanitaria' school of photography in Milan, he moves to New York City where, in 1992, he becomes first assistant of fashion photographer Claudio C. Basso. -I remember that period as one of the most challenging times of my life, but also as one of the most rewarding. At that time, Claudio exhibited in NYC a memorable series of Black & White featuring celebrities with infants. The collection called 'A Star and a Baby' was successfully auctioned to raise founds for a charity organization devoted to help children born with AIDS-
Back to Italy, Paolo Rollino continues in his professional activities as still life photographer, landscape and portrait artist, and free-lance journalist becoming the founder and co-editor of the online aviation magazine 'www.AVIOBOOK.com'
